About Reachway Church
Reachway Church is a new church in the city of Peoria that envisions a community living life to the fullest. We hope that this page answers any questions you may have about what Reachway is all about, our leadership team, and our story. If you have more questions, please ask right here!
Values of Reachway Church
We believe that God created everyone and loves us all with an equal love. We will live out the truth that everyone has a purpose, everyone can grow, and everyone can contribute.
We believe that God has given all of us something to offer, even if it doesn’t seem like a lot. We will generously give our time and resources to help others.
Spirit of Resilience
We believe that God never gives up on us. We will not give up on ourselves, our family, our friends, or our community.
We Gather Together - Come as you are!
Our weekly gatherings are designed to be welcoming, encouraging, and hopeful for anyone and everyone. Reachway is made up of different kinds of people with different pasts and different present circumstances - even different styles of clothing! What we have in common is that none of us are perfect, we believe that the love of Jesus Christ changes lives, and we love the city that we gather in - Peoria!
our weekly gatherings take place every Sunday at 10am at:
1203 NE Perry Ave // Peoria, IL 61603
There is a lot going on when we gather! We have two different environments designed with the whole family in mind:
1) Reachway Kids - Any child *infant - 6th grade* will have a blast at Reachway Kids! We believe that children are the church of today - not the future - so whether they are singing, dancing, listening, or crafting, our Reachway Kids will be learning about how God loves them, how He made them with purpose, and make new friends in the process! Reachway makes intentional steps to match the lesson the kids hear with what the parents and caregivers learn about in the sermon, to foster growth throughout the week at the home. All of our awesome volunteers are trained and background checked, not only providing a fun environment for children, but a safe one as well.
2) Anyone not in Reachway Kids gathers upstairs for a time of connection with God - plain and simple! We believe that through singing, praying, and exploring different parts of the Bible, we are able to be impacted by the love of Jesus Christ and grow closer to Him (as individuals, and as a church).
We Scatter as People of Hope
We believe that following Jesus is a 24-hours a day, 7-days a week lifestyle (not just a Sunday morning thing!). When we aren't gathered together, we are scattered throughout the city as people of hope. Whether we are at work, the store, the park, serving as a team, or just hanging out at the house, we believe that God can use us to bring hope to the people and places that need it. We believe that hope can change the world, and God is using us to see that happen!

The Story of Reachway
Reachway's story is rooted in countless decisions made with bold faith and perseverance. In 1945, Peoria First Church of the Nazarene (still active today) planted what was then called Peoria Northside Church of the Nazarene in the heart of Peoria's North Valley Neighborhood. In 1967, after their initial years of service to the community, the church outgrew two different gathering facilities and made the decision to stay & build in the neighborhood on the corner of Perry Ave. and Voris St. (see article from the Peoria Journal Star circa. early 1960s). After decades of impact as a church, the congregation voted to change their name to Impact Church of the Nazarene in 2017.
In the Spring of 2018, the congregation made a courageous decision of humility and sacrifice. For the sake of the neighborhood that they loved so dearly, the people of Impact Church voted to close as a church in order to see a brand new church with a fresh vision find its way into the neighborhood- right on the same corner that they started on so many years ago. On Sunday, September 23, 2018, Reachway Church officially launched under the leadership of Pastors Seth and Tai Major.
